Q: What do your puppies come with
All of River View Labradors puppies are sold with limited AKC registration. They receive their first shots and are treated weekly for parasite prevention beginning at 5 weeks of age. Flea and tick prevention is given after 6 weeks of age. The puppies are seen by my vet and receive a certificate of health, along with their first set of vaccines. We offer a health and hip guarantee on our puppies, and send them home with you with a small bag of puppy food, and a blanket with their litter mates scent. We feed the Victor brand from Chewy. Puppies go home no earlier than 8 weeks of age. And all of our puppies come with lots of pre-spoiling and love!
Q: What is the difference between limited registration and full registration?
With limited registration you will receive a certificate of registration by the AKC stating it is limited registration, however, offspring of this dog will not be eligible for registration. This is to protect the breeder’s bloodlines. Many people do not understand the commitment, financial investment, and dedication in improving the breed that breeders work so hard on when breeding these beautiful Labradors. Full registration allows the offspring of the dog to be registered with AKC.
Q: How do I reserve a puppy?
Typically what we do is we take your name and contact info and put you on our waiting list. We allow people to choose their puppy in the order we receive their request to be put on our list. We keep you updated on when the breeding takes place, when pregnancy is obvious and when the puppies are born. Once the pregnancy is confirmed, we require a $500* non refundable deposit to hold the spot of your puppy. We take personal checks or bank certified checks, as payment until the puppies are 6 weeks of age. All puppies MUST be paid in full before leaving our premises.
*Refunds will only be given if the color or gender of the puppy you requested is not born in the litter, or if the puppy dies before you take it home.
Q: Do you cross breed or breed silvers or charcoals?
No, positively not. We breed strictly to the Labrador standards.
Q: Do you ship your puppies?
While we know that distance plays a role for some people, we do not ship our puppies. We love to meet our new puppy customers in person and get to know them.
Q: How do I obtain full registration?
On occasion, do we give full registration. If we feel comfortable and trust the owner, and once the owner does health clearences and hip clearances, and shows proof of the dog passing the results, do we revoke limited and give full registration. Feel free to ask more questions regarding this.
